The mission of CIFAL Flanders is to develop capacities of individuals, organizations and institutions to enhance global decision-making and to support country-level action for shaping a better future.

CIFAL Flanders is the International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders affiliated with UNITAR, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research. Our mission is to promote peace, human rights, sustainable development and the declarations, principles and guidelines of the United Nations, with focus on Agenda 2030 & the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

On these topics, CIFAL Flanders conducts workshops, lectures, webinars, train the trainer sessions and many other trainings. By adopting the action learning methodology, CIFAL Flanders shares knowledge and inspiration in an interactive way that is useful in practice. We link theory to practice to empower leaders in society.

CIFAL Flanders is one of the 16 international training centres of the UNITAR CIFAL Global Network. The CIFAL centres are located across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Americas and the Caribbean. Since its inception in 2003, the Network has reached more than 50,000 beneficiaries through over 500 learning events. CIFAL Flanders itself is located in Antwerp and was launched in October 2015.
